If you have little ones, staying up until midnight (or beyond) to ring in 2018 probably isn’t in the cards. Still, you can have a great celebration with your family on New Year’s Eve – even with an early bedtime.
Here are five ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve with young children that everyone in the family will love. Read on:
Hotel party
While a hotel party with friends might have been the way you celebrated in your pre-kid days, what’s to say you can’t do it as parents? Rent a nice hotel (with a great pool) and have fun splish-splashing in the New Year!
Fancy dinner and family movies
Even little kids love eating off the good china and having some sparkling grape juice, right? What better way to celebrate than dinner and a movie with your little ones? Even if they are eating chicken nuggets and you are having steak, be sure to toast with some sparkling grape juice before settling in for a family movie.
Games galore
A fun family game night with lots of super snacks is a fantastic way to ring in the year. Pick a few family favorites, have everyone choose a snack and its game on until 2018 (or 7:30 p.m., whichever comes first!).
Celebrate at a “Noon Year’s Eve”
Many communities have a “Noon Year’s Eve” party for little revelers, so check out the listings in your area. These fun family events typically have a countdown to noon for children with balloons, noise makers and other fun activities.
House party
If you feel up to it, invite a few friends with kids over for pizza and fun. Chances are, friends with kids the same age as yours will want to skedaddle at bedtime too, so everyone gets a good night’s sleep.
