If you have a baby, the last thing you want is for he or she to get sick.
However, it is inevitable that eventually, your little one will come down with something. That is why it’s a good idea to have a few natural remedies on hand so you aren’t caught unaware.
Here are some natural remedies to have on hand for baby’s health. Read on:
A humidifier
One of the best things you can have if you have babies or small children is a humidifier. Children get colds and a humidifier can help with preventing them and making sick kids feel better. A cool mist version is the best, and make sure you clean it and dry it each day (and change the filter often!).
A Nose Frieda and saline drops
Stuffy little noses need some help every now and again, and the Nose Frieda (aka the “snot sucker”” is one of the best on the market for clearing tiny nostrils. Adding some saline drops to the mix is always a good idea, too!
A syringe for fluids
Sick kiddos need fluids and one of the best ways to get drinks in them is to squirt a bit into their mouths with a syringe. Sometimes, tiny amounts work best to get fussy children and babies to drink up.
If you are breastfeeding, offer breastmilk often as well.
Your doctor’s number
Yes, this isn’t technically a remedy, but it’s often a good idea to give your baby’s doctor a call if he or she is under the weather – especially if they are under 6 months old. Babies can get really sick really fast, so sometimes the best remedy is peace of mind!
