Five new social distancing friendly holiday traditions

This year, the holiday season might look – and feel – a bit different due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But that doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun as a family or establish some new traditions.

Here are some social distancing friendly holiday traditions. Read on:

Holiday lights

The good thing about holiday lights is, you can either drive around (or if you are adventurous walk around) looking at them in your pajamas with a cup of hot chocolate!

You are with your family but enjoying a tradition you might keep up for years to come.

Virtual Cookie Challenge

If you have friends or family who love to bake, set up a virtual cookie challenge! Everyone shares a favorite recipe and then the baking begins. It will allow you to try out new cookie recipes and share in the fun with loved ones.

Holiday Movie Marathon

There are SO many holiday movies out there to choose from so set up a schedule and start watching! This one is good for families of all ages, and you can even watch virtually with family and friends on Zoom.

Donate toys

If you have never shopped for or donated toys during the holidays, this year is a great year to start. The need is there and might be more this year in light of the pandemic and the economy. Check out some local charities and non-profits for ideas and get the kids involved.

Virtual Gingerbread Decorating Contest

Round up your family and friends, buy a gingerbread house kit and start decorating. Have a friend or neighbor offer to judge the winner of the contest and have fun! The kids will love it – and you will too.

Everything Birth

At Everything Birth, we hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
